Blessed Samhain

A Blessed Samhain to one and all in the North Hemisphere! (And a blessed Beltane to our Southern Hemisphere friends!!) May the veil be thin enough that you can speak with your loved ones that have passed, get across all that you needed to express, and may they join their families in the celebration of this wonderful time of the year. 

From here we celebrate the darkening half of the year. Light your home fires and keep them burning till our sun grows stronger and the God is in his full aspect!

Magick is around... quick little post

It's important to feel the magick in all that you do. If you go for a walk, look around at the world. Trees are changing up here in the North, and in the Southern parts of the world, things are growing! But the world is turning!

There is energy around everywhere!!

Leaves are changing colors! Bright and beautiful! I spent an hour watching a squirrel in my yard running around gathering what  he could and building his home. When I go out, I can hear the birds chattering, the squirrels running around, chipmunks going. But at the same time, I can see that things are preparing for rest here! Those animals that are running around... they are doing so in anticipation of the quiet cold winter months to come. We are progressing further and further into the darker part of the year. It's getting dark here by 6:30 at the latest. Which is always interesting to explain to little ones why they can stay up later* then they are used too.

So take some time to sit out and feel it. Take a few minutes to walk around, or sit out. See what the animals are doing, feel the charge in the air, catch the wind, the fire of the son, the solid ground at your feet, and if it's raining... be a kid and jump in that puddle. Take a moment to feel the elements and remember, as the wheel turns, there is magick in everything and energy to it all! The important part is to take the time to witness it, to feel it and to see it in our busy lives.

Wheel has turned...

The wheel recently turned. We are entering the darker part of the year up here in the Northern Hemisphere. We just had the Autumn Equinox, or Mabon. With Mabon we see that the days are spending more time in the dark then in the daylight. We're preparing more for cooler days. The harvests are starting to be done, and it's time to prepare ourselves for inner studies and personal reflection. We're quickly approaching Halloween, or Samhain. A time when the veil between the physical and spiritual world is at it's thinnest. A time to reflect and remember our loved ones that have gone before us. It's also the final harvest.

 This is a great time to get out and enjoy nature. Feel the energy of the season. For me, this is the time of the year I feel the most energy. I feel the world so vibrantly. The colors entrance me, and I am drawn more into nature. My path is always re-affirmed and grows stronger. I look forward to hikes in the mountains, driving to look at the leaves, and just sit and feel the air. Living in the North East, Autumn has come in in full force a bit earlier this year. Days are already colder, and the colors have been vibrant.

For Mabon, I took the kids out to the local orchard. We picked apples, went for a tractor ride around the farm, tried out the corn maze and also they got to climb on the hay. It was such an amazing day, and one that will truly remain so fondly in my memories. The 4 of us had such a wonderful time, and I was able to start sharing my fondness for nature with them.

Now as we approach Samhain, we'll be starting to discuss more of remembering those loved ones we have lost. To begin looking more inward, for after Samhain we fully begin our entrance into the darkest part of the year.

getting back...

So things went all topsy turvy in my world, but I'm back. I'll be posting more of my Pagan and psychic musings on a more regular and steady way. It's time to get this side of me active again. I'm happily getting things back in order. My spirituality has developed since I started this so long ago, and while I wasn't posting, I was growing and developing things. I'm in a better place, mentally and spiritually to get this going and actually have it grow!
